New Hampton Students Collecting Peanut Butter

NEW HAMPTON- Each year around the holidays, New Hampton Elementary School participates in a project to help the community.  For the past two years, the school has collected regular size jars of peanut butter to help provide supplies for the Backpack Program says Principal Linda Kennedy.

Kennedy says last year’s peanut butter drive was a success with 350 jars collected.  She says the program typically went through twenty jars a week.

Today, 4th grade students will construct a peanut butter jar Christmas tree in the cafeteria.  Kennedy says each grade will also get to participate in a peanut butter dance as a celebration for jars collected.

Peanut butter jars will be collected through Friday.  Jars can be dropped off at the New Hampton Elementary office.
