Man shot at Oskaloosa shooting range dies

OSKALOOSA, Iowa (AP) — An Oskaloosa man found injured at a shooting range this week has died from his injuries.

The Oskaloosa Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1l1a4jX) that 73-year-old Daniel Eugene Karow died late Wednesday at a hospital hours after being found at the Hull Shooting range west of Oskaloosa.

Authorities say it appears Karow was unloading a revolver when it went off, hitting him in the abdomen. He was found semiconscious by another shooting range patron who arrived at the range early Wednesday afternoon.

The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources investigated the shooting.
