Taking the Plunge for a Good Cause

Pastor Kevin Frey taking the plunge last year.

NEW HAMPTON-  A local pastor will soon take the plunge….into Lake Michigan that is.  Kevin Frey (FRY), pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton is taking part in the New Year’s Day Polar Plunge in Milwaukee.  Frey says this is his second year taking the plunge into freezing waters.

In conjunction with the plunge, Frey and Trinity Lutheran Church are trying to raise money to help fund a “Homes for Haiti” home.

One home costs just over $5,000 to construct.  Frey says the church is close to reaching its goal and he plans to fully submerge his body into the water if the goal is reached.

Frey says he and his companions plan on dressing up in Star Wars or Harry Potter costumes to take the plunge.  To donate to the Homes for Haiti fund contact Trinity Lutheran Church at 394-2552.
