CHARLES CITY- Plans for the Beaver Creek Watershed project are progressing.  Last week, Floyd County Supervisors discussed administration of the Community Development Block Grant with Chris Diggins of North Iowa Area Council of Governments.

Diggins drafted a letter to begin the process of procuring engineering services for the watershed project.

Diggins says supervisors will award the bids and that NIACOG is simply there to assist supervisors in the process for getting the project underway.

The $1.5 million dollar Beaver Creek Watershed project was approved by the Upper Cedar Watershed Management Improvement Authority board in May.  The project will help improve water quality and flood mitigation in Beaver Creek in Floyd and Chickasaw Counties.

Floyd County is the fiscal agent for the grant.
