IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Police say they’ve caught a robbery suspect in Iowa City by following his footsteps in the snow.

Iowa City police say a cab driver reported that he was robbed by two men early Tuesday. Authorities set up a perimeter and used a K-9 unit to follow some tracks left on the fresh snow.

The tracks led to a garage. Samuel Lee Lockett III was found inside and taken into custody. Police say the soles of his shoes matched a set of footsteps by the crime scene.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports ) Lockett has been charged with second-degree robbery. Court records do not list an attorney.

Police are still looking for a second suspect. A cash reward is being offered in exchange for information that leads to an arrest.
