Local Peace Officers to be Featured on MSNBC

State Trooper Mark Domino was part of the October 2012 shootout in the Maynard Savings Bank robbery.

MAYNARD- Television network MSNBC will feature a story familiar to many people in North Iowa.  On Sunday, the network will air “Heist: Terror in the Heartland” a program discussing the October 2012 robbery at Maynard Savings Bank that led to a shootout with law enforcement.

Retired Peace Officers, Sumner Police Chief Dennis Cain and State Trooper Mark Domino were both involved and injured in the shootout with the two robbers William Clayton of Osage and Jeremiah Mumford of New Hampton.

Mumford and Clayton are serving concurrent 50 year and 75 year prison terms for charges of first degree robbery, attempted murder and intimidation with a weapon.

Both Cain and Domino were interviewed for the program as well as bank employees.  “Heist: Terror in the Heartland” will air at 10p.m. Sunday.
