City Hears Budget Requests

Charles City Hall

CHARLES CITY-Budget talks continue for the City of Charles City. On Monday, five organizations requested funding from the city for the upcoming budget year.

Mary Ingham with Crisis Intervention requested $750 in funding.  Ingham says the organization helps place victims of domestic abuse or assault in permanent housing among other services.

Members of the Charles City Arts Council requested $10,000 for building maintenance and program development. Arts Council president, Bethany Kois says funding will help with ever-rising costs of maintaining the building as well as allowing the Center to offer unique programming.

Marci Andrews of the Community Foundation requested $10,000 to help continue funding the Development Associate job position, which procures endowments and grants for organizations throughout the county.

Other requests came from the Area Development Corporation and the Mainstreet Iowa program.

About Chris Berg

Chris was born and raised in Webster City, IA. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki and a daughter Brynlee.
