Students Ask School Board to Reconsider Red Plan

CHARLES CITY-Four Charles City High School students are voicing their concerns when it comes to the school facilities project.  On Monday, students Jackie Foster, Megan Joerger, Alicia Ruzich and Madison Winterink asked School Board President Jim Frisbee to correct the mistake of “accidently removing” the red plan from consideration, by allowing it to be reconsidered.

Megan Joerger says the numbers show that people are in favor of the red plan, which proposes a single campus option at Comet Drive for grades 6-12.

Students asked board members to make a motion to add the red plan to the town hall discussions.  Board member Loraine Winterink was the sole board member to respond to the students’ statement.

The first town hall meeting discussing the proposed blue, purple, and yellow plans will take place Saturday, February 1st at 10am in the Charles City High School Cafeteria.
