Speech Students Perform for Community Tonight

Charles City Middle School

CHARLES CITY- Speech students will show the community what they are made of tonight during a special performance.  The performance is a preview of the material 50 students will take to the state competition in Waterloo on Saturday.

Student Rachel Baxter advanced to state for Readers Theater and Choral Reading. She says each group tries to perfect their performance to show judges they have what it takes.

Jonathon Baxter is part of Choral Reading as well as Ensemble Acting. He says he really enjoys being part of the ensemble acting group.

Brady Garden is part of the One Act group. Garden just recently joined the group after hearing that another student that was part of the group moved away.   Garden says, while many were worried about the fate of the One Act group, he saw it as an opportunity to step-up.

Performances will include material that is advancing to the state competition.  Tonight’s performance begins at 7pm at the Charles City Middle School.

About Chris Berg

Chris was born and raised in Webster City, IA. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki and a daughter Brynlee.
