Supervisors to Consider Resolution in Support of Gas Tax

Floyd County Courthouse

CHARLES CITY- Floyd County Supervisors will meet to take action on a resolution to support the fuel tax increase. Earlier this month, supervisors discussed the fuel tax with County Engineer Dusty Rolando.

Rolando says an increase in the gas tax will bring in a substantial amount of money for both Floyd and Chickasaw Counties

Rolando says the tax money will go towards road and bridge repairs in the county

Other items on the agenda include setting a public hearing for fiscal year 2015 budget, review of the dust control policy for 2014, review on hiring a mechanic for the Secondary Roads Department, and a public hearing on bids for the B-60 bridge approach paving project. The meeting begins at 9am Tuesday at the Floyd County Courthouse.
