The Charles City Comet girl’s track and field team has been tested by Mother Nature just like the rest of the teams around the area, but used the time they had indoors to work on the technical aspects of some events. Head Comet girl’s track coach Darren Bohlen says it’s unusual to have this much time indoors, but they are trying to use it to their advantage.
Coach Bohlen is excited about several different areas that his team features this year, one of which is the Shuttle Hurdle Relay team.
Coach Bohlen also anticipates some success with the other events as he highlights some of the stand out individuals on his team.
The Comet girls four by eight hundred meter relay team made it to State last year and Coach Bohlen anticipates that team to get stronger. The Comet girl’s track team also features a core group of girls that are versatile and that gives Coach Bohlen some options.
Tune into Thursday’s report for part two of the Charles City Comet Girl’s Track and Field team preview.
