Croell Redi-Mix Awarded Contract For Resurfacing Project

Charles City, IA – Floyd County will save a little over $40,000 for a crushed stone resurfacing project. At its regular board meeting on Tuesday, April 8, the Floyd County Board of Supervisors voted to award the resurfacing project to Croell Redi-Mix based out of New Hampton.  The bid came in at $9.90 per  ton for a total of $845,460. Allied Manatts submitted a bid of  $10.30/ton totaling $886,452.

Floyd County Engineer Dusty Rolando expressed surprise at the bid.

Chairperson Roy Schwickerath read the motion to approve the bid.

Rolando presented the 2015 state secondary Iowa DOT budget, which was approved by the supervisors.

Rolando went on to discuss secondary road activities and gave praise to his crew for the hard work they had to do this winter.

The board took a recess and reconvened in Nora Springs for a joint drainage district 6 trustee meeting.
