Decorah, IA – The Decorah Fire Department along with the Decorah Police Department on Tuesday responded to a report of a truck fire.

When they arrived on the scene, they located a fire in the cab of the truck. They say the fire began in the front seat cushions and was quickly extinguished.

During an investigation, police officers found a pack of cigarettes near the fire and 16 year old Aidan Lester-Deen was then cited for possession of tobacco by a person under the legal age. This is Lester-Deen’s second offence on that charge.

Firefighters later concluded that the fire was started by a carelessly discarded match. No injuries were reported.
