Charles City, IA – The annual Comet Relays were held yesterday at Comet Track and the Charles City boys track team was impressive in front of their home crowd as they finished with 124 team points which was good enough for second place in the Orange Division.

Some of the standout performances included Levi Miller finishing second in the 400 meters in a time of 51.78 seconds, Jacob Day finished second in the 800 meter run in a time of 2 minutes and 9 seconds, day also finished first in the 3200 meter run in a time of ten minutes, Shane Feller finished second in the high jump clearing 5′ 8″, Feller also claimed first in the long jump leaping 19′ 3″, the Comet sprint medley team finished first and the 4×200 meter relay team finished second. The Comet boys track team will again compete Thursday in Waverly.

In addition to the Charles City Comets – The Saint Ansgar Saints, the North Butler Bearcats, the Nashua-Plainfield Huskies along with Riceville and Rockford participated. Saint Ansgar claimed the team title in the Grey Division by finishing with 183 team points as they claimed first place finishes in 9 of the events. North Butler got a first place finish in the 800 meter run by Shaylon Lahr and also a first place finish in the 400 meter hurdles by Trent Merfeld. Nsahua-Plainfield received first place points in the high jump as Jordan Klingman cleared 5″ 8″. The complete meet results can be found by clicking here.
