Charles City, IA – More showers and thunderstorms are anticipated for Sunday across North Iowa. Some of the thunderstorms could become severe this afternoon with large hail and damaging winds being the main threats although an isolated tornado can’t be completely ruled out. The entire area remains in a slight risk for severe weather, according to the Storm Prediction Center.
As the Sunday evening hours progress, the storms will turn more into heavy rain makers, dropping 1 to as much as 2 inches through Monday. Although flash flooding isn’t expected, there could be ponding of water on roadways and also rises in area creeks and streams.
