Final Party In The Park of 2014 This Friday

Charles City, IA – You’re invited to the summer’s greatest block party–Party in the Park! The final event of 2014 is scheduled for Friday, August 8 from 5-9 p.m. in Charles City’s Central Park. This week’s Party in the Park is sponsored by Auto Zone, Dennis Donovan, PC, Mike Molstead Motors, Perry Novak Electric and Zoetis.

The last Party in the Park of the season will feature the musical talents of Milk and Honey out of Cedar Falls, Iowa. This group of fun loving musicians plays a wide variety of music focusing mainly on old school rock and roll classics. The winners from the July 25th koozie contest sponsored by the Pubcrawlers will be announced at the 6:30 band break.

Kids of all ages are invited to enjoy free inflatables in the park, sponsored by Zoetis, including a Disney Cars themed slide and the all new Meltdown. The Meltdown is an 8 player action game similar to the popular TV show “Wipeout.” The goal is to stay on a small circular platform and dodge the two swinging arms without getting hit. Other activities at Party in the Park this week include mini golf, pedal cars, radar speed check, bounce house, ring toss, bean bag toss, face painting, glitter tattoos and carnival games.

The August 8th Party in the Park will be the last opportunity to use the 2014 Chuck Chips sponsored by Mitas. There is no admission charge for Party in the Park. Families can join in the fun with various children’s games and activities offered the event. Food and beverages are available for purchase throughout the evening with Party in the Park’s “Chuck Chip” currency. Chuck Chips may be obtained from the “Chuck Chip Table” near the center of the park or from volunteers in red Chuck aprons stationed throughout the park during the events.

The Party in the Park events are a function of Charles City Community Revitalization, Charles City’s Main Street Iowa program.
