Alternating lane closures on Iowa 57 in Butler County begin Tuesday

road closed

New Hampton, IA – A bridge deck overlay project on Iowa 57 between mileposts 29 and 30 in Butler County will require alternating lane closures beginning at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, until mid-October, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office.

Traffic will be separated from the work area with temporary barrier rail. Motorists will be directed through the construction zone by temporary traffic control signals.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
