MASON CITY, IA – The Pyrotechnics Guild International is back and bigger and better than. Everyone has seen fireworks but NOTHING compares to the displays during the PGI Convention. Sue Armor is the executive Director of Visit Mason City and says the shows are a must see:
The last time this event was hosted in Mason was 2009. This family oriented event sets itself apart with cutting-edge entertainment featuring ground and aerial fireworks that is meticulously choreographed with music and other special effects:
And much of the show is unable to be seen anywhere except from the Grandstand. In addition, only those in the grandstands will be able to hear the synchronized music creating “a dance” with the fireworks and feel the heat:
Show will be Sun. Aug. 10, Tues. Aug. 12 and Wed. Aug. 13 displays start at 8:30 pm with competition following. Friday Aug. 15th show starts at 8:00 pm. the gates open at 6pm. All shows are weather permitting. Rain dates for the week are as follows: Monday Aug. 11, 2014, Thursday Aug. 14, 2014 and Saturday Aug. 16, 2014. If Saturday’s show is rained out, it will not be rescheduled. To find out if shows are being cancelled or delayed, please visit the PGI Facebook.
