Funeral Announcement

Theresa Waters, age 90, of Osage, died Monday, August 18, 2014, at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Nashua. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 6:30 p.m.

Theresa was born June 25, 1924, near Marble Rock, Iowa, the daughter of George and Ella (Marzen) Meek. She attended

St. Mary’s School in Roseville, Iowa. On June 15, 1942, she married Lloyd Waters, Jr. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Roseville. Theresa and Lloyd raised their nine children on the farm. She cooked at Sacred Heart School in Osage for 33 years, at the K.C. Fish Fries for 20 years, and catered many graduations and weddings. Theresa was an active member of Sacred Heart Church and Guild. She enjoyed praying the rosary, playing cards, her flowers, and of course, cooking.

Theresa is survived by her children, Jeffery (Kathy) Waters of Mason City, Karen (Ron) Hill of Orlando, Florida, Patricia (Ron) Lane of Des Moines, John (Carol) Waters of Burnsville, Minnesota, Jeani Waters of Bloomington, Minnesota, Lyle Waters of Urbana, Donna Jennings of Orlando, Florida, Sister Mary Waters of St. Paul, Minnesota, Robert (Patty) Waters of Oskaloosa; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Eileen Dykes of Rochester, Minnesota; brothers, Dan Meek of Osage and David (Rose) Meek of Marble Rock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Waters; two daughters-in-law; two grandchildren; and nine brothers and sisters.
