Entrepreneurial Program coming to Osage and Charles City

CHARLES CITY, IA – If you’ve ever been interested in starting a business, or you would like to grow an existing business, this is the perfect time to make your plans. A class offered through the North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, Launch and Grow Your Business, will be offered at the NIACC Learning Centers in Charles City and Osage this fall.

Launch and Grow Your Business is designed to teach participants how to research, develop and write detailed business plans. It covers all aspects of launching a business, including licenses, bookkeeping, marketing and how to set up shop. Participants work on their own business ideas throughout the course moving their ventures to reality or new levels of growth.

This course is for you if:
• You have an idea for a new business and would like help getting it started.
• You already have a business but would like to improve your operations, marketing, and/or take care of essential aspects of growing the company. Perhaps you want to learn more about finances and gain a better understanding how to measure success of the business.
• You’re a student in an entrepreneurship or small business class and need to launch a complete business in a limited time period.

Launch and Grow Your Business will be held on Tuesday evenings for ten weeks from 6:00-9:00 p.m. September 9 through November 11. The first five weeks will be held in Charles City at the NIACC Charles City Center, room 110. The Center is located at 200 Harwood Dr. The final five weeks will be held in Osage at the Osage Library in the NIACC classroom. The address is 406 Main St. The cost for the course is $199.  You can attend with a friend or spouse and share the materials, and the cost would be an additional $100 for the second person.

The NIACC John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, a nationally recognized program, provides college level courses and degree programs in entrepreneurship, as well as comprehensive consulting services for business start-ups, existing industries and owner transitions in the North Iowa region.
