Man charged with Terroristic Threat in Charles City

CHARLES CITY, IA – On Sunday the Charles City Police were called to the Best Budget Inn for a report of an intoxicated person. Police encountered Loren T Saxon and reported that he was heavily intoxicated and made threatening statements against children. He was arrested and transported to Floyd Co Jail.

Saxon has been charged with Terroristic Threats, a class D felony and public intoxication, a serious misdemeanor. Saxon remains behind bars, and a $6000 cash only bond has been imposed. According to a statement from the Office of the Floyd Co Attorney, The safety of the community and children is of the utmost concern to the Floyd Co Attorney’s Office and the Charles City Police Department and all precautions are being taken to insure public safety.  It appears that Saxon acted alone.
