FC Deputy Involved In Accident While Responding To Crash; No Injuries

Floyd, Iowa – On Friday at approximately 11:20am, Floyd County Sheriff Deputy Matt Lovik was responding to a semi that had tipped over due to the strong winds and was blocking part of the Avenue of the Saints at the 212 mile marker.

Lovik was traveling south on Highway 218 behind the Floyd Fire Department with their emergency lights and sirens activated when Lovik turned east from the Highway 218/18 intersection and sideswiped a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am which was being operated by 32 year old Ryan Wolf of Charles City.

No injuries were reported and both vehicles sustained $1,000 in damage.
