Charles City, Iowa – The Charles City Fire Department on Tuesday introduced their nearly-new aerial fire truck.

The apparatus was purchased from truck supplier Sutphen from Dublin, Ohio for close to $730,000.

The truck’s outriggers, turntable along with ladder were refurbished. It also came with new ladders and code updates that the former aerial truck didn’t meet.

Fire Chief Eric Whipple said the new truck has not been put into service yet as they still need to transfer the gear in the old truck to the new one.
