The Iowa Coaches Baseball Association released its All-District teams yesterday and a few area kids were honored. Nashua-Plainfield was able to land three players on Class 1A Northeast All-District teams. Senior Jason Fisher was a First Team selection as a utility player as he finished the year with a .435 batting average, six extra-base hits and 20 runs batted in. Fisher also went 2-2 on the mound with 23 strikeouts in 20 and a third innings pitched. Senior Devin Koob earned Second Team Honors as a utility player with a .442 batting average, a .580 on-base percentage and 24 runs scored. Koob also won three games on the mound and had 41 strikeouts in 43 and two thirds innings pitched. Sophomore Mason Hyde was selected to the Second Team as a third baseman as he hit .345 this season with eleven doubles, three home runs and 25 runs batted in.
Saint Ansgar was awarded two selections to the Class 2A First Team Northeast All-District team. Junior Pitcher Jared Mayer earned First Team honors as a pitcher as he went 8-0 on the mound this year with a 0.79 ERA. Mayer also struck out 52 batters in 53 innings. His battery mate, senior Colin Salz was selected to the First Team as a catcher with a .430 batting average, thirteen extra-base hits and 35 RBI.
