Charles City, Iowa – A Charles City man has been arrested for allegedly threatening someone with a handgun.

21-year-old Cornelius Marsha Phillips has been charged with going armed with intent.

Police say Phillips was in the 2100 block of Clarkview Drive in Charles City on Sunday when he began arguing with a male individual. Phillips allegedly pulled out a .38 caliber pistol and threatened to “pop” the victim, who put his hands up and backed away. The alleged victim then took off running when Phillips turned away.

A police officer later arrested Phillips in front of the building at 2102 Clarkview Drive and allegedly found the pistol in his right front pocket.
