We now move on to some more Iowa Hawkeye football news. The Hawks are more focused on their 0-2 finish to last season than they are a 12-0 regular season. After running the table the Hawkeyes lost to Michigan State in the Big Ten Championship and were humbled in the Rose Bowl by Stanford. Junior linebacker Josey Jewell says those losses helped fuel off season workouts.
The Hawkeye face lofty expecations coming into the new season and Jewell says it is up to the team leaders to help manage those expectations.
A number of key players return on defense but Jewell says the key will be the play of some new faces.
The Hawkeyes open the season on September third against Miami of Ohio.
