Charles City, Iowa – The North Iowa Area Community College Charles City Scholarship Committee will host a gourmet dinner and auction as a scholarship fund-raising event on Thursday, Sept. 8 at the Charles City Elks Lodge.

The social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. which includes a silent auction. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with a live auction. The theme of the this year’s event is “Hats Off to Hollywood.”
Committee member John Guthart explained the history of the event.
Andrea Mujica, assistant director of the NIACC Foundation said the support of part-time students is very necessary.
The Charles City Area Scholarship fund provides scholarships to students attending North Iowa Area Community College either on the main campus or at the NIACC Charles City Center. The scholarships are awarded to applicants who are at least 18 years old, live in Floyd County or within a 20 mile radius of Charles City and enrolled part-time at NIACC.
The event will include valet parking, a photo booth, live and silent auctions and entertainment. Comet Café students will be on hand to assist with the event, and the poster was designed by Charles City high school senior student Abby Milligan.
Tickets are $40 person or $300 for a table of eight. Tickets can be reserved by calling the NIACC Foundation at 888-466-4222, ext. 4386.
