KCHA Sports Report (9/1)

With no local sports on the calendar last night, we begin today’s report with what is on the schedule tonight for our area fall sports teams.  The Charles City Comet boys and girls cross country teams will kick-off their 2016 season tonight with a home meet at the Wildwood Golf Course.  Other area boys and girls teams competing in this meet include Nashua-Plainfield, North Butler, Rockford and Saint Ansgar.  The meet will begin with the Middle School races at 4:15 with the High School races to follow.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky volleyball team will host a Top of Iowa Conference match tonight against Mason City Newman Catholic.  The Huskies come into tonight’s contest with an overall record of 1-2 and they are 1-1 in conference play while Newman sits at 0-2 in conference play.  First serve is scheduled for 7:30.

The Osage Green Devil volleyball team will host Saint Ansgar tonight in Top of Iowa Conference action.  Osage is 2-0 both overall and in conference games while the Saints are 1-1 and 0-1.  First serve is scheduled for 7:30.

The North Butler Bearcat volleyball team will be at home tonight to take on Central Springs in Top of Iowa Conference action.  North Butler is 3-4 overall this season and 1-1 in the conference.  Central Springs comes in at 1-1 overall and in the conference.  First serve from Allison is scheduled for 7:30.
