The Nashua-Plainfield volleyball team was able to sweep Mason City Newman three games to none last night at home in a Top of Iowa Conference match-up.  The Huskies won by scores of 25-16, 25-7 and 25-12.  Nashua-Plainfield volleyball is now 2-2 overall and they move to 2-1 in conference play.  They will next be in action on Tuesday at Central Springs.

The Osage Green Devil volleyball team took care of Saint Ansgar last night at home in a Top of Iowa Conference three games to none.  Scores went 25-15, 25-14 and 25-7.  Osage is now 3-0 overall this season and they are also 3-0 in conference play while Saint Ansgar falls to 1-2 and 0-2.  Osage will be in action again next Thursday at North Butler and Saint Ansgar will play again tomorrow in a tournament at New Hampton.

The North Butler Bearcat volleyball team was swept by Central Springs last night at home three games to none as they scores were 25-23, 25-19 and 28-26.  The Bearcats fall to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in Top of Iowa Conference games.  The Bearcats will play again on Tuesday at Saint Ansgar.

It’s week two of the Iowa High School football season.  Here is where and when our area teams will play.  The Charles City Comet football team will head to Osage tonight to face the Green Devils.  Both teams are looking for their first wins of the season as they both sit at 0-1.  You can tune into this game right here on KCHA starting with a pregame at about 7pm.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.

The Nashua-Plainfield football team will be on the road tonight as they get set to visit Hudson.  The Huskies and Pirates both come into tonight’s game with 1-0 records.  Kickoff from Hudson will be at 7pm.

The North Butler Bearcat football team will travel for their week two game as they will be at GMG Garwin.  Both teams come into the game winners of their first games of the season.  Kickoff will be at 7pm.

The Rockford Warrior football team will be looking for their first win of the season tonight as they get ready to host North Union who also comes in at 0-1.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.

The top-ranked Saint Ansgar Saints football team will take on South Winneshiek at home tonight.  The Saints and Warriors are each 1-0 this season.  Kickoff for this one will be at 7:30.
