Charles City Comets

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky football team got their Week 3 football game in last night as they hosted top-ranked Saint Ansgar.  The Saints were able to take care of business as they defeated Nashua 41-7.  Nashua drops to 1-2 overall this season and 0-1 in District play while Saint Ansgar improves to 3-0 and 1-0.  Nashua will be at Rockford on Friday and Saint Ansgar will host North Butler.

The Charles City Comet volleyball team will continue Northeast Iowa Conference tonight as they will head to Cresco to face the Cadets.  Charles City comes in with a seven match winning streak and are 7-2 overall with a conference record of 1-0.  Crestwood is 0-2 this season in NEIC play.  First serve is set for 7:15.

The Osage Green Devil volleyball team will host Nashua-Plainfield tonight in a Top of Iowa Conference match-up.  The Green Devils, who are coming off of a 2-4 record at their own tournament over the weekend, are 6-4 overall and 3-0 in conference play.  Nashua, who was 0-4 on Saturday in Parkersburg, is 2-7 overall and is 2-2 in conference matches.  This meet will get started at about 7:30.

The North Butler Bearcat volleyball team will be on the road tonight for a non-conference tilt against AGWSR.  The Bearcats are 6-9 overall while AGWSR is 1-9.  First serve from Ackley will be at about 7:30.

The Rockford Warrior volleyball team will hit the road tonight for a Top of Iowa Conference match against Central Springs.  The Warriors are an even 5-5 this season overall and they come in with a 1-3 conference record while Central Springs is 7-2 and 3-1.  The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30.

The Saint Ansgar Saints volleyball team will be at home tonight for a Top of Iowa Conference meeting with West Fork.  Saint Ansgar volleyball is 3-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play while West Fork comes in at 5-3 and 3-0.  First serve is set for 7:30.

The Osage Green Devil boys and girls cross country teams will host a co-ed meet today at the Mitchell County Nature Center.  Other area teams competing will be Nashua-Plainfield, North Butler, Rockford and Saint Ansgar.  The meet will begin at 4:30 with the Middle School girls race.
