In a match heard right here on KCHA last night, the Charles City Comet volleyball team was in non-conference action at Osage.  The Comets won an extended game one 29-27, took down the Green Devils 25-12, Osage won game three 25-20, and the Comets won game four 25-18 to claim the match 3 games to one.  Tayler Schmidt led the Comets with 13 kills, Sydney Loeckle had 30 assists and Katie Foster was a perfect 23 of 23 serving with three aces.  With last night’s win, the Comet volleyball team is now 22-4 overall this season and they will be back in action at home tonight against Waukon.  You can tune into that match right here on KCHA starting with a pregame at about 7:15 with first serve scheduled for 7:30.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky and North Butler Bearcat football teams made-up their Week five football game last night in Allison.  The Huskies won in a close one 30-28.  Nashua football is now 3-3 overall this season and they move to 2-2 in Class A District 3 while North Butler drops to 2-4 and 1-3.  The Huskies will be at Grundy Center this Friday and the Bearcats will be at West Fork.

The Charles City Comet and Osage Green Devil boys and girls cross country teams will travel to Dike today for a co-ed meet.  The meet will be run at the Fox Ridge Golf Course and get started with the Middle School races at 4pm.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky volleyball team will be at West Fork tonight for a Top of Iowa Conference match against the War-Hawks.  Nashua comes in with an overall record of 3-11 and they are 2-4 in the conference while West Fork comes in at 9-6 and 5-2.  First serve is scheduled for 7:30.

The Rockford Warrior volleyball team will host North Butler tonight in Top of Iowa Conference action.  Rockford is 6-10 overall this season and they have a 1-6 conference record.  North Butler has an overall record of 9-13 and they sit at 2-5 in conference play.  First serve from Rockford is set for 7:30.

The Saint Ansgar Saints volleyball team will be in a Top of Iowa Conference road match at Mason City Newman Catholic.  Saint Ansgar volleyball has an overall record of 9-7 and they are 3-3 in the conference while Newman comes in at 2-12 and 1-7.  First serve for this match will also be at 7:30.
