Charles City Firefighters talk to TLC students about fire safety

Charles City, Iowa – A handful of Charles City Firefighters were out in the community on Tuesday, not fighting a fire, but teaching some of the youngest residents about fire safety.

Marty Parcher, assistant chief of the Charles City Fire Department said they love to visit children during fire prevention week.

Students had the chance to get a tour of the fire truck and learn about some of the equipment used to fight fires.

The children even had the chance to shoot water out of a fire hose.

Firefighters will be wrapping fire prevention week up on Sunday with their annual pancake breakfast at the fire station from 8am until 12:30pm. To learn more about fire prevention week activities, search for Charles City Fire Rescue on Facebook.
