The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union continued its volleyball postseason last night with Classes 1A and 2A holding their Quarterfinal Round.  The North Butler Bearcat volleyball team was able to avenge an early season loss to Northwood-Kensett by beating them last night in a Class 1A Region 5 Quarterfinal.  The Bearcats won game one 25-17 and game two 25-14, but the Vikings would storm back winning the next two by scores of 25-16 and 25-20 to force a game five.  The fifth and deciding game was all North Butler as they were able to win easily 15-4.  With the win, the Bearcats improve to 17-16 overall this season and advance to the Regional Semifinals.  That match will be played at top-ranked Janesville on Thursday night.

The Saint Ansgar Saints volleyball team saw their season come to a close last night at the hands of Lake Mills in a Class 2A Region 6 Quarterfinal.  The Saints were swept by the Bulldogs three games to none by scores of 25-8, 25-13 and 25-16.  Saint Ansgar volleyball finishes their season with a record of 14-11.

Classes 3A and 4A will have their Regional Semifinal round tonight.  The Charles City Comet volleyball team will be in action tonight for their first time this postseason.  The Comets received a first round bye and will host Mason City tonight in a Class 4A Region 5 Semifinal.  The Comets come in at 35-5 overall this season and they are ranked fifth in the state while Mason City comes in with an overall record of 10-18.  Charles City defeated the Mohawks twice this year as they beat them two games to one at the Centennial Tournament on August 27th and beat them in Clear Lake two games to none on September 8th.  You can tune into this match right here on KCHA starting with a pregame at about 6:40 with first serve from New Comet Gym at 7pm.

The Osage Green Devil volleyball team will be looking to reach the Regional Finals tonight as the Green Devils will host New Hampton in a Class 3A Region 6 Semifinal.  Osage volleyball is ranked fourteenth and comes in with a record of 21-11 while New Hampton comes in at 28-10.  You can tune into this match on our sister station 951 The Bull starting with a pregame at 6:45 and first serve is set for 7pm.
