Charles City Comets

In a match heard right here on KCHA last night, the Charles City Comet volleyball team hosted Mason City in a Class 4A Region 5 Semifinal.  The Comets were able to win in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 25-8.  Katie Foster had twelve kills to lead Charles City’s offense, Sydney Loeckle had 18 assists, Sadie Ruzicka had 13 digs and Foster went 20 of 20 serving with an ace.  The Comet volleyball team improves to 36-5 this season and they will play in the Regional Finals at home against Waterloo East on Monday night.

In a match heard on our sister station 951 The Bull last night, the Osage Green Devil volleyball team was at home for a Class 3A Region 6 Semifinal against New Hampton.  The match started out slow for Osage as they dropped the first game 25-9.  The Green Devils were able to right the ship quickly though as they rattled off wins in the next three games by score of 25-10, 25-13 and 25-18 to win the match three games to one.  Brenna Jacobs had eleven kills to lead Osage and Kelsey Havel added ten, Rylie Olson had 36 assists and Kourtney Chambers had 17 digs for the Green Devils.  Osage volleyball improves to 22-11 on the season and will take on West Delaware on Monday night for the Regional Final.
