The Charles City Comet wrestling team hosted a triangular meet in which they faced both New Hampton and North Fayette Valley.  In the first match against New Hampton, the Comets started strong as Luke Hillegas won by fall to give the Comets a 6-0 lead.  Carter Proffitt, Alex Kohler and A.J. Maloy were the other Comets wrestlers who got victories in the Northeast Iowa Conference meet against New Hampton.  When it was all over New Hampton defeated Charles City by a score of 57-15.  The second match was heard right here on KCHA as they Comets took on North Fayette Valley.  Due to injuries, the Comets had to forfeit four matches which put them in a hole right away.  The Comets received wins from Proffitt, Dylan Koresh, Kohler, Sam Niichel, Maloy and Bronson Forsyth, but were unable to come away with a win as they dropped the meet 42-34.  The two losses puts Charles City’s wrestling team at 4-6 overall this season and dual meets and the drop to 0-2 in NEIC matches.  The Comets will be back in action today as they will participate in the two day event that is the Battle of Waterloo.
