Students learn drug awareness during program held at IC school

DAP Program

Charles City, Iowa – The Charles City Elks Lodge sponsors a Drug Awareness Program which is taught to area students.

Charles City Elks Lodge member and former New Hampton police officer Bob Svec, who is now a radio personality on 95.1 The Bull, teaches the program.

Svec incorporates a power point along with personal stories of his experiences as a police officer for 25 years.

Students in Mrs. Brown’s class had this say about what they are learning with the DAP program.

Mrs. Brown, sixth grade teacher at IC School, said the program is very beneficial for her students.

Svec teaches the program at both St. Joseph’s Community School in New Hampton and at IC School in Charles City.

The Charles City Elks Lodge #418 sponsors a bowling party for the students. They also provide Drug Awareness Program t-shirts for all participating students.
