Snowplow Removing The Snow From The Highway During A Snowstorm

Mother Nature did quite a number on our winter sports teams last night.  The Charles City Comet boys and girls basketball teams had their games with New Hampton postponed.  Both the boys and girls will make those games up on Thursday January 26th.

The Top of Iowa Conference girl/boy double-header between Rockford and Nashua was postponed last night.  The Warriors will now host the Nashua girls and boys basketball teams on Monday January 16th.

Instead of playing last night, the Osage Green Devil boys and girls basketball teams will head to Mason City Newman for their Top of Iowa Conference match-ups with the Knights on Thursday February 2nd.

The North Butler Bearcat girls and boys basketball teams will now have their games at Northwood-Kensett on Monday January 23rd.

The Saint Ansgar Saints girls and boys basketball teams had their conference games with Central Springs postponed.  No make-up date has yet been announced.

Iowa State begins a busy week tonight with a visit to Oklahoma State. It opens a three game in six day stretch for the Cyclones that will conclude with a Big Monday game against second ranked Kansas.

That’s Iowa State coach Steve Prohm. Deonte Burton had 27 points in Saturday’s win over Texas and Prohm says they need more of that from their senior forward.

A key against the Cowboys will be slowing down sophomore point guard Jawun Evans, who averages 19 points and is shooting 51 percent from three point range.

Oklahoima State is 10-5 under first year coach Brad Underwood but they are 0-3 in the Big-12 after a 61-57 loss at top ranked Baylor.

You can tune into the Iowa State Cyclone Men tonight as they take on Oklahoma State right here on KCHA.
