Public Input Session Planned For Incubator Gardens

Spring-Plants

Charles City, Iowa – A public input session for residents,  producers, businesses and organizations to discuss the possibility of a site for gardens and alternative farming possibilities will be held on January 18th.

There will be two sessions available, one from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and again from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. Both sessions will be held at the Charles City library.

Courtney Long, Community Economic Development and Agriculture and Natural Resources program coordinator talks about the project.

Long talks about how the project got started.

Long said several local people have been instrumental in the planning the project.

Various designs for edible landscapes, gardens or incubator farms will be highlighted at the input session.

The event is being offered as an open house to encourage individuals to come and go as they please.

The site design is planned for Charles City this spring.

For more information on the project, email Courtney Long at court7@iastate.edu.
