Funeral Announcement

Lois Elizabeth Weipert, age 65, of Osage, died Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.

Cremation has taken place.

A Memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Inurnment will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage. Following the Inurnment, there will be a time for fellowship and lunch at the Columbus Club of Osage.

Lois was born April 30, 1951, in New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Evelyn (Flick) Hoffman. She attended school in New Hampton and graduated in 1969. Lois was united in marriage to David A. Weipert on August 18, 1969 in Des Moines. She was a homemaker most of her life. Lois was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 4561 in Cresco.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and walking her dog Phoebe.

Lois is survived by her children, Tina (Gene) Thorne of Cresco, Sonia Mayer and friend Will Evans of Waverly, David C. Weipert of Sioux Falls, SD: 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister Darlene (Charles) Carey of Ionia; sister-in law Patsy Hoffman of Charles City; and many other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David A.; and brother, Charles Hoffman.
