With no local sports on the schedule last night, we begin today’s report with a check of what is on the area winter sports calendar tonight.  The Charles City Comet wrestling team will host a Northeast Iowa Conference triangular meet tonight.  The Comet grapplers will welcome in Waverly and Waukon.  The Comets are 5-12 overall in dual meets this season and they will be looking for their first NEIC win as they are 0-5 in conference duals.  Waverly comes In at 14-3 overall in duals and they are 3-1 in the NEIC and Waukon is 9-14 and 1-3.  The first match will be at 5:30 tonight.

The North Butler Bearcat wrestling team will host a triangular meet tonight in Greene.  The Bearcats will host Nashua-Plainfield and Clarksville.  The first match is set to begin at 6pm.

The Osage Green Devil wrestling team will be in New Hampton tonight for a non-conference triangular.  The Green Devils will wrestle against Decorah at 6:45 and then they will take on top-ranked New Hampton at about 7:30.

The Rockford Warrior wrestling team will be at home tonight for a quadrangular meet.  The Warriors will host Saint Ansgar, Algona, and Lake Mills to this meet which will begin at 6pm.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky girls and boys basketball teams will be on the road tonight for a Top of Iowa Conference double-header against Mason City Newman.  The Nashua girls come in with an overall record of 2-10 and they are 1-8 in the conference while the Knight girls are 6-7 and 5-5.  The Husky boys are 4-7 overall and 3-6 in conference play while the Newman boys are 7-5 and 6-4.  The girls game will tip-off at about 6:15 and the boys game will follow.

The Osage Green Devil girls and boys basketball teams will be at home tonight for a Top of Iowa Conference double-header with Saint Ansgar.  The Green Devil girls are 8-3 overall this season and come in with a conference record of 7-2 while the Saint Ansgar girls are 1-9 and 0-8.  The Osage boys will look to stay unbeaten tonight as they are 12-0 overall and 9-0 in the TIC.  The Saints boys come in at 6-4 overall and they are 6-2 in league play.  The girls game will begin at about 6:15 and the boys game will start at around 7:30.
