There were numerous area high school boys and girls basketball games that were postponed last night due to the weather.  Here is what has been rescheduled as of the now: the Nashua-Plainfield Husky girls and boys basketball teams will play at Saint Ansgar now on February 6th.  The Osage Green Devil vs. North Butler girls and boys basketball teams will make-up their games from last night.  The girls game has been rescheduled for January 30th and the boys game will now be played on February 10th.  The Rockford Warrior girls and boys basketball teams will make-up their games at Mason City Newman on January 30th.

In a game heard right here on KCHA last night, the Iowa State Cyclone Men’s Basketball team squandered a 20-point second half lead but made enough plays down the stretch to edge Kansas State 70-65 in Ames. It was the Cyclones’ sixth straight win in the series as they improve to 5-3 in the Big-12. Matt Thomas scored 20 of his career high 25 points in the opening half. He finished 7-of-10 from three point range.

Thomas says the Cyclones survived a sluggish second half.
