Police searching for vandals who are shooting at vehicle windows

Charles City, IA – “If you see something, say something.” The Charles City Police Department is keeping a close eye out for vandals who shot at vehicle windows with BB guns causing damage sometime between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

Officers took a report at 9:15am Thursday that someone had shot out a car window with a BB gun in the 600 block of 8th Avenue. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $150.

Another report came in at 11:46am about a window being shot in the 500 block of 1st Avenue with about $200 in damages.

At 12:06pm, officers went to the 600 block of 1st Avenue to investigate a vehicle that was shot with a BB gun, damages estimated to be near $200.

The final report came into the station at 3:13pm in the 1800 block of Clark Street where the windshield on a pickup truck was shot, causing close to $250 damage.
