The Charles City Comet boys basketball team was in Oelwein last night for a Northeast Iowa Conference game against the Huskies.  For the second time in five nights the Comet boys were able to defeat the Huskies, this time it was a bit closer as the final score was 53-47.  The Comet boys basketball team is now 11-4 overall and they improve to 6-3 in the NEIC.  They will be back in action tomorrow night at North Fayette Valley.

The Charles City Comet girls basketball team was at home last night for a non-conference match-up against Waterloo East.  The Comets would lose a hard fought battle by the final score of 62-44.  The Comet girls are now 1-14 overall this season and they will be at home again tomorrow night as they will host North Fayette Valley in non-conference action.

The North Butler Bearcat girls basketball team hosted Nashua-Plainfield last night in a Top of Iowa Conference tilt.  The Bearcats were able to pull away from the Nashua girls in the second half and walked away with a 46-31 win.  The Bearcat girls are now 7-8 overall this season and they are 6-7 in conference games while the Nashua girls drop to 3-16 and 1-13.  North Butler’s girls will play again tomorrow night at Central Springs and the Nashua girls will be at MFL-Mar-Mac tomorrow night.

The North Butler Bearcat boys basketball team also hosted Nashua-Plainfield last night in Top of Iowa Conference action.  Again it was the Bearcats who came out on top of a 61-45 score.  The Bearcat boys improve to 5-10 overall this season and they are now 5-7 in conference games while the Nashua boys fall to 6-12 and 4-10.  The North Butler boys will play again tomorrow at Central Springs and the Nashua boys will have their next game on Monday at Saint Ansgar.

The Osage Green Devil boys basketball team continued their impressive season last night as they defeated West Fork 54-48 at home in Top of Iowa Conference play.  The Green Devil boys are now 16-1 overall this season and they move to 12-0 in league play.  They will play at Mason City Newman tomorrow night.

The Osage Green Devil girls basketball team was also victorious at home over West Fork last night in a Top of Iowa Conference match-up.  The final score was 46-27.  The Green Devil girls have an overall record now of 14-3 and their conference record of 11-2.  The Osage girls will join the boys at Mason City Newman tomorrow night.

The Rockford Warrior girls basketball team was able to defeat Saint Ansgar last night in Top of Iowa Conference play in Saint Ansgar last night.  The Warriors won the game 61-45 to improve to 17-2 overall this season and 12-2 in the conference.  The Saints girls fall to 2-14 overall and 0-13 in conference play.  The Rockford girls will next play on Friday night at home against Osage and the Saint Ansgar girls will play at Cal tomorrow night.

The Saint Ansgar Saints boys basketball team was able to win at home last night over Rockford 62-55 in a Top of Iowa Conference contest.  The Saint Ansgar boys are now 10-6 overall and 9-4 in TIC play while the Warrior boys fall to 12-7 and 8-6.  The Saint Ansgar boys will be in non-conference action at Cal tomorrow night and the Warrior boys will return to action Friday night at home against Osage.
