Basketball With Dark Background On A Wood Gym Floor

The Osage Green Devil boys basketball team was in Mason City last night for a Top of Iowa Conference contest against Mason City Newman.  The Green Devils took a six point lead into the fourth quarter and hung on to a 56-55 win.  Drew Olson led Osage with 19 points and Lucas Schwamman had 17 points.  The Green Devil boys are now 17-1 overall and they move to 13-0 in conference games.  They will look to stay perfect in conference play tonight at Rockford.

The Osage Green Devil girls basketball team was also in Mason City last night taking on the Newman Knights in Top of Iowa Conference play.  A one point lead at halftime for the Green Devil girls turned into an eight point deficit at the end of three and they were unable to climb out of the hole and lost the game 51-49.  The Osage girls are now 14-4 overall this season and they fall to 11-3 in the conference.  They will be back in action tonight at Rockford.

The North Butler Bearcat girls basketball team was in Manly last night for a Top of Iowa Conference meeting with Central Springs.  The Bearcat girls came out of halftime sluggish as they managed only two points in the third quarter and was the main reason they dropped the game as the final score was 54-36.  The North Butler girls are now 7-9 overall and their conference record is 6-8.  They will be in conference action again tonight at West Fork.

The North Butler Bearcat boys basketball team was dominant last night in their Top of Iowa Conference game at Central Springs.  The Bearcat boys won by a final score of 65-18 to improve to 6-10 overall and 6-7 in league play.  North Butler’s boys will be in Sheffield tonight for a conference match-up with West Fork.

The Saint Ansgar Saints boys basketball team was in non-conference action last night as they were on the road taking on CAL.  The Saints boys had little trouble as they won the game 72-49 to improve to 11-6 overall.  They will play again tonight at Northwood-Kensett.

Other area basketball games tonight include the Charles City Comet girls basketball team in Northeast Iowa Conference action at Waukon.  The Comet girls come in at 1-15 overall this season and they are 1-8 in the NEIC while the Indian girls are 8-10 and 2-7.  You can tune into this game right here on KCHA starting with a pregame at about 7:15 and tip-off is scheduled for 7:30.

The Charles City Comet boys basketball team will welcome in Waukon tonight at New Comet Gym for a Northeast Iowa Conference game.  The Charles City boys are 11-4 overall this season and 6-3 in NEIC play while the Waukon boys are 5-11 and 2-7.  Tip-off for this game is scheduled for 7:30.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association will hold Sectional Wrestling Meets all over the State tomorrow.  The top two individuals in each weight class at tomorrow’s tournaments will qualify for the District Meets next Saturday.  The Charles City Comet and Osage Green Devil wrestling teams will be in Charles City.  You can tune into this meet right here on KCHA starting with a pre-meet at about 11:50 and the first matches will begin at noon.

The Nashua-Plainfield School District will host a Sectional Meet tomorrow where the Huskies will be joined by area teams, North Butler, Rockford, Riceville and Saint Ansgar.  This meet will also begin at noon
