CC Rotary extends first aid kit distribution

Charles City, Iowa – The Charles City Rotary Club has extended its distribution of First Aid kits. The project, spearheaded by Rotarian Chris Garden, started last year and has been extended, thanks to a grant from the Floyd County Community Foundation.

Chris Garden thanked the foundation for the funding.

Last week First Aid kits were distributed to area preschools as well as to the Charles City Housing Authority.

Garden said First Aid kits are still available for families in the area.

Charles City Rotary is involved in many projects throughout the year for the good of the community. The next service project the Charles City Rotary Club has committed to is helping serve community meals through the local Community Kitchen.

Rotarian Staci Ackerson made the request of the project at a recent Rotary board meeting and the club agreed to the project.

Ackerson talks about the project.

The Charles City Rotary Club recently made over $6,000 at the annual Rotary Radio Auction, with proceeds which will help fund service projects as well as provide scholarships for area students.

The Charles City Rotary Club meets every Monday at the Elks Lodge for lunch and a program. Anyone is welcome to attend as a guest. Anyone wishing to be a guest at Rotary may simply go to the Charles City Elks Club at noon on Mondays and be greeted at the door.
