Charles City, Iowa – Accumulating snow will make a return to the area late this weekend with several inches possible.

The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a winter storm watch for north Iowa and southern Minnesota, which includes all of the KCHA/KCZE listening area. The watch goes into effect late Sunday afternoon and will continue through

The snow is expected to spread into the area beginning Sunday afternoon, continuing through midday Monday, heaviest between Sunday evening into Monday morning.

Current indications are for 5 to 7 inches to fall across the area.

The weather service says confidence remains high for moderate to significant amounts of snow however the locations and amounts remain somewhat uncertain. Any small shift in the storm track or its strength will have impacts on where the heaviest snow falls, and how much.
