New Floyd County Youth Enrichment Center Open House to be held Friday

Charles City, Iowa – The Floyd County Fairground boasts a brand new building, that has been in the works for over two years.  The building, which was initially funded by Gil and Donna White, will be a fantastic addition not only to the Floyd County Fair, but also for county-wide events.

Fair-board President Amy Staudt explains.

Staudt said the building concept and plans were designed by Charles City FFA students.

The project has been funded by grants, along with donations by both private and business donations, as well as grants written by the Fair board.

Staudt said the building was designed for a large capacity for different types of functions.

While there is still work to be done on the exterior of the building, Staudt said ample parking will be available around the entire building.

As a culmination of National Ag Week, a grand opening will be held on Friday at the new building from 5-11 p.m. The event will feature a dinner, live entertainment, a live and silent auction and more.

More information about the Youth Enrichment Center can be found on the fair website, floydcountyfair.org.
