Osage man charged with assault after allegedly hitting 16 year old

Osage, Iowa – An Osage man, 36-year old Matthew Entriken, was charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

According to court documents, Entriken allegedly hit a 16-year old in the head with his fist on March 28th at his home in Osage.

Local school officials asked investigators to check on the girl, and upon doing so they found her with a bump and a bruise on the side of her face.

Entriken was initially arrested and charged with a felony of child endangerment.

At the request of  the prosecution, the judge has since then changed the charge to misdemeanor assault.

Entriken will appear in District Court in Osage on April 18th.
