NH Schools consider adding soccer program, meeting to be held on Tuesday

New Hampton, Iowa – A meeting to explore the possibility of offering a soccer program at the New Hampton High School will be held on Tuesday.

New Hampton offers a spring soccer program with the New Hampton Parks and Recreation department, which has six boys and girls teams which are offered to kids ages 7-12.  However, teams above the age of 12 haven’t been formed, due to lack of a high school program.

The Park and Recreation Department said their program has more than doubled the amount of kids who played soccer five years ago.

Parent organizers hope the meeting will generate interest in developing a high school soccer program.

The meeting will be held at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday in the New Hampton High School Media Center. All are welcome to attend.
