Decorah to host 41st Air Race Classic on June 20th

Decorah, Iowa – The 41st Air Race Classic, the annual all-women cross-country airplane race with fifty-four teams consisting of 118 women pilots from across the country will take off on Tuesday, June 20th from Maryland.

The race will be a 2,648 mile sprint across the United States that ends on Friday, June 23rd in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

This year, the Decorah Municipal Airport will host the 41st Air Race Classic. Decorah City Administrator Chad Bird explains.

Bird said the pilots will have a fly-over of Decorah both as they land and again when they take off the next morning.
